Please report these incidents either to your local councillor and youth services and maybe they will be able to help. If I’m your youth councillor I would be able to help too. Malcolm Dunstone Malcolm.Dunstone@darlington.gov.uk

I think it is a shame that you don’t feel safe in the park after 6pm. We can get the police to take the alcohol of the teenagers as they are too young to be drinking. In fact I was speaking to the police this evening (Friday) about some of the worries I have heard from these questions, especially in the villages and they say they will look into some of these issues. Do you think this would help?

I would encourage the police to use the powers they already have to confiscate drink from those too young to drink. I would like to see youth workers in sufficient numbers to work constructively with young people. But I also think there are more young people like you who hate this sort of behaviour than the ones who are a nuisance – and it’s difficult to challenge – but I wish young people could challenge it more.
You deserve to be able to meet your friends safely.

Just who are supplying the teenagers with the drink and cigarettes. The council is quite strict in making sure that shops
dont sell to underage people. Where do you think they are getting this stuff? It is such a shame that you are frightened to go to the park after 6pm Is there a beat policeman or PCSO making sure that the park is safe?
