we will be even safer. The fear of crime is worse than the actual crime itself!
Generally Darlington is very safe. I have lived in London and been attacked. I do feel alot safer here. I think we have a few minor problems but if people who care about Darlington all worked together we could get on top of them.
In general tems I think Darlington is a safe place, but I’m very aware that young people are more likely to be victims of crime than other age groups. The police do some really good work with young people, but they can’t just go around trying to be popular, in the end they have to control crime. So what I would do is to try support the police, ‘in the community’ – the idea that one or two officers get to know an area really well and therefore get co-operation from the public I think is the way to go. But promises are difficult, our anti-social control team is being cut back because money is tight.

I feel safe living in Darlington however I don’t go out late nights and my opinion may differ in these circumstances.
