The people who run your school are the governors and they are run under LMS (Local management of schools) I have just had a meeting tonight at my school I am chair of the governors. We have to decide what to spend our budget on and it is very hard to make serious decisions! How about asking your school council to bring it up at their next meeting or even ask for a mufti day (no school uniform) and sacrifice a sum of money then use that money for new books…

The schools in Darlington are given money from the government to buy everything that they need for each year. This government is cutting the amount that each school has to spend so shools have to find new ways of raising money. Many schools hold events such as discos or sponsored walks to try to raise money, if you have a good idea for raising some money for your school you should tell your teacher.

Old and worn is not necessarily bad but if you really need new books have you tried asking your teachers about this or addressing it thru the school council?
