Question: why have you got rid of our school advisors or whatever you call them... one of the teachers at my school told us he is very angry that they've been taken away..
I am very angry too. The present government is not the one i would have chosen (I’m in the Labour party). As soon as they got elected ,they asked dfor money back from the Council and withdrew more money we had been promised for new schools. So in the end, even when the Council disagreed, they had to stop employing the advisors . I’m pleased, however, that your teachers thought the service was good when we were able to offer it.
I have sent a few e mails regarding this because I still thought we had them or changed the name or
function. will get back when know more!
It looks like the cuts we have had to make has meant we no longer supply the advisors. This has been one of the rotten decisions made. I know that my school Northwood Primary had Andy Dunn and he did a great job. Terrible.
Your teacher is right to be angry about this, I am angry too. Darlington has got a very good history when it comes to education and we had some very ambitious plans for the future, unfortunately this government has forced us to cut millions of pound from our budget and I can’t see it getting any better in the near future. This council has got to make some awful decisions over the next few months and many people are going to lose their jobs, I really don’t agree with it but the government is forcing us and many other councils to do it!
I am angry too. It was not a decision I agreed with, but the excuse is lack of money. They have not taken into account how much good they do for the money.

I beleive that a school should be capable of running a school themselves – schools are in control of their own budgets.
