We have a lot of sports clubs and facilities in Darlington I think we need to do more to let people know what is going on. I would like to know what you think we need to do in your area?

I would like to see more sports facilities. Many years ago I was an athletics coach for Durham City Harriers, so I believe we need more good facilities. More Tennis clubs, Better Running clubs, more team sports. Have you ever played softball. It is a great sport. I would like to see an olympic size pool and a 10 metre Diving board. Actually better facilities for affordable prices for as many sports as people are interested in

I would like to make sure all sport facilites are being fully utilised.
If money was no object I’d love Darlington to have more skate parks on a larger more complex scale, floodlit football pitches, an improved Rock Climbing Wall in the Dolphin Centre and an improved network of sports facilities across the town.

I have done a lot about sports facilities in the past. It was partly my work which got Eastbourne Sports Complex built with a Lottery grant. However at the moment we are facing big cuts and it is likely that things like leisure facilities wil have to take a cut. But we have excellent facilities at the Dolphin Centre and we are hoping that all the schools will be able to make their sports fields and sports hall available in the evenings to the public. i will keep asking for that to happen.
