Hi, the cost of building a new school is different for each school due to its size and what facilities are needed. The cost of a new average size primary school is about seven million pounds and the cost of a much bigger secondary school can be as much as forty million pounds. Darlington Council spends around seventy million pounds a year on education and childrens services. It also spends about nine million pounds a year on culture and liesure…… phew, great question, thanks.

As you can see by what Joe has said it is so expensive and the council cannot afford to pay for these things
they have to rely on the government to pay.
