It was ten years ago now, but I remember it really well. Sometimes , it was quie scary, especially if you were asked to make a speech when you didn’t know you had to! And some occasions were very grand. Once i went to a big ceremony in curham Cathedral and had to walk in a procession wearing the chains, ared robe and a tricorn (three cornered) hat! The main thing, though, was finding out about all the organisations in Darlingon, you wouldn’t believe how much goes on!
I am deputy mayor at the moment and if re elected next year I will get to be the Mayor.
I have enjoyed doing occasions when the Mayor cant make it like the tall ships dinner
at Hartlepool and the Rifles Northern dinner at Durham.

I have never been mayor. But I imagine you would be very busy and meet lots of interesting people.
