Unfortunately the Government doesn’t look like it’s going to give Darlington council any more money for new schools, I really don’t agree with it but I’m afraid that’s the truth.
No I wish I could but I can’t. The schools in the Borough that were “promised” the money badly needed it, however the money just didn’t exsist. We can’t continue to spend billions of pounds we just don’t have. Labour promised money to schools mainly in Labour areas ahead of the election to win votes, they knew they wouldn’t win the election and have come up with the money! Its easy to promise something that you know you won’t have to do!
So I could promise to find the money to build a new state of the art school but I would be lying! I can however promise to work hard to make sure that what goes on inside your school is good, that it gives you a good education that will lead to good qualifications if you are willing to work hard. Qualifications are like keys and the more keys you have the more doors you can open in your life!
I can’t promise. The Council has written to the government asking for this, but we have had no joy so far. It is too expensive for the Council to pay for a new school itself. Sorry.

As a Conservative at Darlington we have no control in decision making like this.
