I think the best thing we can do is for ALL of us to show strong disapproval. I though the idea the Council had a few months ago was good. They took a week’s worth of litter collected in the town centre and heaped it up byt the Pease statue, just to show how bad it was. That should be repeated!
Keep trying to educate people not to drop litter, then prosecute if that does not work. Catching them is bad enough. The council does not drop the leitter they have to pick it up and catch those who drop it.
I get very cross witht he litter that is just dropped anywhere. I try and get more bins placed if there are none. But sometimes there is a bin within a few feet and still litter gets dropped. I know we notify the enforcement team of these areas and they try to find the people who litter and fine them. I think we need to educate people as well.
