This is really a problem that not just young people want solving. I think it is a community issue and we
need more people willing to report this when they see it happening. I think the police need to tell more people
when they catch criminals. In my ward I chair the PACT meeting and we identify hot spots, residents get involved
and we work together to catch these people.

I would like everyone to report these things to the police so that they know where best to target to catch the criminals. Bullies should be punished, like cleaning school toilets.

Most people hate crime and bullying, one of the problems is that not many people are prepared to report it. In my ward I am constantly encouraging people to report any crime to the police, or to me, because if the police don’t know about it then they think everything is ok. The police don’t always catch the criminals, but if they know that crime is being committed in a certain area they can try to prevent it from happening again

We do have an anti bullying project going on in schools all the time. Out of school, I’d like to see the bullied facing down the bullies, collectively, if everyone got together. But I know that’s very difficult. Crime has come down, anti-soical behavious however is a bit different. Community police should have a bigger part to play, in my view.
