I think unless you want to be a doctor, solicitor or something that has a degree directly linked to it I beleive getting qualified by working or apprenticships should be promoted more at school rather than always pushing the university route. Be a tradesperson and earn money rather than spend a fortune at university building up debt. I did go to university and trained to be a teacher doing a PGCE but I didn’t get a job in the fashion industry linked to my degree.

No, the council does not have responsibility for students after 18. I have opinions, though, of course.
