I would hope that you read my manifesto and ask me questions, read my answers and make your own mind up. Everyone usually votes for the person who is like minded to what they want in life. I think all the councillor’s on this bit of fun have the serious task of trying to get young people interested in democracy. Hopefully voting for an issue now would make young people think about voting in the future. Now for the fun answer! You want me because I speak out for you and support your causes, I am the best because I care about young peoples issues and I should win because I shall continue to do so.
Why am I the best? of the six councillors in ‘Get me out of here…’? Well, first i am a Labour councillor so i think that’s better than being a Conservative, so that rules out 2 ot the others. i also don’t think much of the Liberal Democrats at the moment, so that rules out another one. Of the three Labour councillors, although I’m the oldest, I’m also the most experienced. Also, I keep up to date and I think my attitudes are quite modern and flexible. I used to teach and that was because i actively like working with young people, so that’s why i should win!!!
I love organising and like having challenging projects to acheive. Age 32 the youngest councillor and a teacher, and with a young child I am aware of the issues that face young people and would love to have the opoprtunity to help find solutions and represent your views. I’m a new councillor and feel I have fresh new ideas and approaches to projects. I am approachable and want to help develop a better Darlington for young people as you are the people who will be most affected in the future with decisions that we make now. I want share your views in the council to represent the youth of the town.
